Certified Medical Assistant (Contract) - Clinical & Administrative, $23/hour

Position Summary

We are seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for a contract role to support both clinical and administrative functions in a fast-paced outpatient setting. Under the supervision of a physician, you will provide direct patient care while ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations.

Key Responsibilities

Clinical Duties:

  • Assist providers with patient exams and procedures
  • Take and record vital signs and medical histories
  • Perform EKGs, phlebotomy, specimen collection, and basic lab testing
  • Administer medications and injections as authorized
  • Prepare patients for examinations and provide patient education
  • Recognize and report abnormal results to the provider

Administrative Duties:

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage provider calendars
  • Verify patient information, insurance, and documentation
  • Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Manage phone calls, patient inquiries, and follow-ups
  • Order and stock medical and office supplies
  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and organized

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 1+ year of MA experience with current certification
  • Active CMA certification (AAMA, CCMA, or RMA required)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross)

Skills & Competencies

  • Knowledge of medical terminology and clinical procedures
  • Strong phlebotomy, EKG, and patient care skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and basic administrative tasks
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality
